TIGER MOJITO ZERO SUGAR

Posted on June 29, 2024 | Last updated January 28, 2025

TIGER ZERO SUGAR MOJITO (OLD Ver)
TIGER series' classic flavor, the zero-sugar version of TIGER MOJITO. I purchased it in Poland in 2023.

In 2024, the design was renewed, but since there have been slight changes to the contents between the old and new versions, I’ll be keeping separate reviews for the old version of TIGER ZERO SUGAR MOJITO and the one released after 2024.

Now, let’s dive into the review of the old TIGER ZERO SUGAR MOJITO.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of TIGER MOJITO ZERO SUGAR

Upon opening, a refreshing minty aroma with a lime juice scent that seems to have sugar added fills the air. The color is green, which seems to be the same as the full-sugar version of TIGER MOJITO. Now, let's try it.
Flavor of TIGER ZERO SUGAR MOJITO (OLD Ver)
When I take a sip, the sweet and sour taste of lime combines with the refreshing minty aroma.

The lime flavor is somewhat artificial, which makes it feel different from the natural tang of freshly squeezed lime. Because of this, the combination of mint and lime brings to mind the impression of mint-flavored toothpaste, which is hard to ignore.

Interestingly, when it's cold, the unnatural lime flavor and the mint's freshness give off that toothpaste-like impression. However, as it warms up closer to room temperature, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, and the toothpaste-like vibe fades away.

Additionally, when served with ice, the artificial sweetener taste that didn’t quite capture lime dissipates, eliminating any off-flavors and allowing the refreshing mintiness and mild acidity to create a more authentic mojito-like flavor. It’s probably best to avoid a lukewarm temperature.

The aftertaste is clean and refreshing. As expected, the unique freshness of a mojito and the perfect minty coolness are best experienced with ice.

If you're seeking a stable, well-rounded flavor in your energy drink, it's best enjoyed at room temperature. For a refreshing, crisp mojito-like taste, ice is the way to go. Lukewarm temperatures should be avoided.

Energy Ingredients of TIGER MOJITO ZERO SUGAR

It contains 80mg of caffeine. There are no other energy ingredients included.

Design of TIGER MOJITO ZERO SUGAR

The base color green is very light, enhancing the zero-sugar appeal.

On the other hand, the "ZERO SUGAR" font color stands out in black, and I personally appreciate that the TIGER series manages to present clear, easily recognizable labels without looking tacky.

I compared the design with the full-sugar version.

I see now that the zero-sugar version’s TIGER logo isn’t black but rather an emerald green gradient. This gives it a brighter and lighter feel, which communicates the sugar-free concept more effectively. I really felt the "ease of communication" when I compared them side by side.
