V ENERGY BLUE
In 2023, the V Energy Drink series underwent its first full flavor renewal since its debut in 1997, and V ENERGY BLUE evolved into a new taste.
The base flavor of V GREEN has changed, and this also influenced the flavor of V BLUE. What has happened to the top-tier tropical flavor without fruit juice created by an Oceania brand? Let’s dive into the review to find out.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of V ENERGY BLUE
Open the can, and a sweet and sour aroma reminiscent of pineapple, peach, and apple bursts out. Since this smell comes from the blue can, first-time drinkers might feel a bit off. Let’s give it a try.
When you take a sip, a tropical fruit flavor spreads, with a mix of sweet and sour citrusy orange and lime, sweet and tangy apple and pineapple, and the fruity sweetness of peach, combining fresh fruit flavors.
Unlike fruit juice-based drinks, there’s no actual fruit or pulp sensation, but the flavor doesn’t turn out cheap. It’s a non-juice fruit flavor that brings out the taste of each fruit nicely.
Compared to the previous V ENERGY BLUE, the acidity from the base flavor, V ENERGY GREEN, has been softened, which means the new V ENERGY BLUE has a more subdued acidity, letting the soft, gentle taste of each fruit stand out.
The reduced acidity of the V energy drink might spark some debate... Personally, I think the previous V ENERGY BLUE was better, as the acidity really enhanced the tropical fruit flavor, making it more delicious.
Energy Ingredients of V ENERGY BLUE

Design of V ENERGY BLUE
Since 2023, the V ENERGY series has undergone a redesign. The design now features small V logos swirling around the main V logo.
Previously, almost every flavor with a different design and color also included the V logo and surrounding V green as the "V Energy logo."
With this redesign, the area around the logo has become simpler, and the logo itself now has a more three-dimensional feel.
The absence of the V green around the logo is reflected on the back, with the border color changing from V green to blue to match the flavor color.
I can’t help but speculate that the removal of V green from all products is due to the conclusion of the lawsuit concerning V green.
For more information on the V green lawsuit, check out Mother GREEN STORM and Mother KICKED APPLE, where you can learn more about what happened in the Australian energy drink scene.
The new design gives each flavor a more subdued and balanced appearance. Personally, I think the redesign was a good move.
The full rebranding took place in August 2023, but as of December 2023, some stores in Australia still had the old and new products side by side.
