In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Sweet and Sour Apple & Mango Fruit Mix Flavor
Upon opening the can, a refreshing and juicy fruit aroma spreads. This seems promising!
Taking a sip, you get a refreshing, sweet, and sour mix of apple and mango flavors. It's definitely delicious!
It could easily be described as a simple apple flavor, but there’s also a tropical twist with the addition of mango, cherry, and hints of guava and passion fruit, offering a juicy fruit mix. The sweetness doesn’t linger too much, and it tastes like drinking a fresh fruit juice. The sourness, along with a subtle bitterness from some fruit pulp, creates a complex and realistic flavor.
As a fruit-flavored drink, V ENERGY GNARLY stands out from the V ENERGY BLUE, which also has fruity flavors. Though both have similar fruity notes, tasting them side by side reveals that they are completely different.
With a refreshing and juicy taste that’s perfect for the summer season, you can easily drink a 500ml can without getting bored—a true high-quality product.
Energy Ingredients of V ENERGY GNARLY
Contains 155mg of caffeine, 1000mg of taurine, 125mg of glucuronolactone, and guarana. Though it has a fruity flavor, it contains no fruit juice.
Design of V ENERGY GNARLY
The can features a man with a hat, sunglasses, and a beard, all drawn in green.
Inside the sunglasses, there’s a summery image reflected.
Although GNARLY was released in September, a bit earlier than the summer season, the design makes you look forward to the summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
Interestingly, there are two variations of the design inside the sunglasses, and the product was available in 3 sizes: 500ml, 250ml, and glass bottles, totaling 6 different designs. If you’re buying them normally, you might not notice the design differences—especially on the 250ml or glass bottle labels, as they’re too small to spot easily.
