This limited edition TORTURED ORCHARD was released in 2018. Initially a limited-time offer, it was revived in 2020 with a new design and product name, becoming a permanent fixture. It seems to have received quite a positive response.

Previously, it was only available in limited quantities, so if you missed the release, you couldn’t get your hands on it. However, now that it’s a regular product, make sure to grab one if you get the chance!

Flavor of V ENERGY TORTURED ORCHARD RASPBERRY LEMONADE

The color is the same as the original V Energy, a classic hue, not the unique shade you'd expect from the TORTURED ORCHARD. When looking at the can's color, I imagined something closer to pink grapefruit, so I wish the liquid's color had been a bit more carefully considered.

Upon taking a sip, it’s a sweet and tart artificial raspberry flavor with a hint of lemon juice, more like lemonade. Despite being called raspberry lemonade, it doesn’t immediately hit that flavor profile. The raspberry’s bold sweet and tart flavor is fine upfront, but the aftertaste doesn’t have that typical lemonade sweetness.

If you're expecting a fruity flavor, you might be a bit disappointed. Instead of going for a more natural taste, it creates a distinct “raspberry lemonade” experience that may divide opinions—either you’ll like it, or find it not bad but not worth repeating.

It contains 155mg of caffeine, 1000mg of taurine, and 600mg of guarana, but no fruit juice.

Unlike Red Bull, V Energy drinks don’t include any fruit juice in their fruity flavors. I’d love to see a flavor with a rich fruit pulp one day.

The design features a fusion of raspberry on top and lemon below, creating a bold and juicy visual impact.

The word “TORTURED” is made to look like the letter “O” in lemon form, with a clip subtly inserted. This can design gives off a fruit fusion vibe, but during the promotional phase, a lot of “TORTURED ORCHARD” imagery was crafted, becoming a highlight that was even discussed in the advertising industry.

The fusion isn’t just visual; there are also motifs of cutting and piercing.

The actual taste is more about squeezing lemon and raspberry together than a typical sweet lemonade vibe, which aligns with the aggressive imagery seen in the promotions.

In New Zealand, there were ads showing frames being broken or barbed wire wrapped around, and it would be amazing to see these “works” firsthand. As a V Energy fan, I’d definitely want to experience it in person.

V Energy is known for its broad advertising reach with every new product launch. You’ll often spot it around town or at events, making it a brand that's hard to miss. That’s probably why their new products sell out quickly.

In 2020, the product was rebranded and simplified to “RASPBERRY LEMONADE” with the “TORTURED ORCHARD” part removed. The aggressive fruit fusion imagery from earlier ads disappeared, possibly due to the removal of the “TORTURED ORCHARD” name.

It only took about a year and a half for this limited edition to become a permanent item, which is rare in the industry. I imagine the reception was overwhelmingly positive, as it's now easily available in Australia and New Zealand. If you get a chance, pick it up and give it a try!
