Flavor of WIRED ENERGY X344
When you open the can, a chemically flavored aroma with a tangy scent comes rushing out. The liquid itself is a bright yellow that hints at a vitamin B flavor. I think you can probably imagine what it might taste like, right? Let’s take a sip.
As you take a sip, the tangy and distinct chemical flavor spreads across your mouth. Though it contains a fair amount of sugar, the sweetness is mild, and it offers a traditional chemical taste similar to Rockstar Original.
The mouthfeel is clear, and you wouldn’t think that it contains 51g of sugar based on how light it feels to drink. As a result, a strong medicinal aftertaste lingers, giving it a satisfying punch, while the smooth, light finish lets you drink it easily. This is one of the distinctive features of WIRED ENERGY X344.
The flavor is almost like a Rockstar clone, and if you're looking to enjoy a chemical flavor in the U.S., WIRED ENERGY X344 is definitely worth trying.
The WIRED ENERGY series is priced somewhat lower and the ultra-high caffeine content is a key reason for choosing it. However, the downside is that it has barely been distributed in some regions over the past decade. If you find a store that carries it nearby, consider yourself lucky.
Energy Ingredients of WIRED ENERGY X344
Contains 344mg of caffeine, 2900mg of taurine, 96mg of inositol, 250ml of guarana, and 60mg of white tea extract.
This is an energy drink that blew the competition away with its ingredient levels during the early 2000s when energy drinks were in their infancy. Since its release in 2004, the caffeine content has been increased, and it still boasts one of the highest caffeine levels in the U.S., along with higher amounts of classic energy ingredients like taurine compared to other brands.
In the U.S., fitness supplement manufacturers started launching energy drink brands with high caffeine and specialized ingredients around 2019, but it’s interesting that WIRED, a regular soft drink manufacturer, created this product 15 years ago.

The orange can features the WIRED ENERGY logo and the number “344,” which clearly indicates the caffeine content, making it easily recognizable from afar. Anyone who loves energy drinks would be surprised when they first see WIRED ENERGY X344.

It used to contain 294mg of caffeine when it was first released in 2004
The older version of WIRED ENERGY X344, produced from 2004 to 2007, was called “WIRED ENERGY X294.” As the name suggests, it contained 294mg of caffeine.
In June 2007, it was reformulated with more caffeine, becoming WIRED ENERGY X344, and this version continues to be sold in small quantities to this day.
At the time, major U.S. brands were also increasing their caffeine content from 160mg to 240mg, which made the 294mg content of WIRED ENERGY X294 less impactful, leading to the evolution into WIRED ENERGY X344.
