Boss Caffeine has been renewed as "Boss Caffeine Pro" on March 26, 2024.
The two flavors, the traditional "White Cafe" and the new "Black," will be released, along with collaboration cans (4 types) featuring the popular game "Uma Musume Pretty Derby."

Boss Caffeine Pro Black Flavor
The new flavor of Boss Caffeine Pro, "Black." The content is a regular unsweetened black coffee.
Upon tasting, it has a light mouthfeel with a roasted flavor, with moderate acidity and bitterness. The texture is smooth and light, with a non-intrusive taste.
However, it is not a coffee with deep richness or full body, so it may feel a bit lacking for some people.
Boss Caffeine Pro White Cafe Flavor
White Cafe is a renewed flavor from the previous Boss Caffeine. The content is the same as before, with creamy sweetness enhancing the coffee’s aroma and richness.
The sweetness and richness of the milk and sugar blend well with the coffee, providing a perfect balance of milkiness and coffee flavor, which is delicious.
If we were to choose which flavor is better from the new lineup, the White Cafe is definitely the winner. Its sweet, coffee-rich taste reminiscent of a café latte is perfect for Japanese canned coffee lovers.
Boss Caffeine Pro Design
The silver steel can is packed with information, segmented by the flavor color, and prominently features the 200mg of caffeine contained within the product.
This is not the design on the back, but the front design, which represents the brand image.
The graph on the front clearly indicates that the caffeine content in Boss Caffeine Pro is twice that of regular canned coffee, which is interesting.
The design has undergone a transformation, shifting from the refined, cool look of the previous Boss Caffeine to a new, ingredient-focused design, which targets those who prioritize the product's contents.
The back of the can also follows a grid design.
The phrase "For those preparing for crucial moments" feels reminiscent of old-school energy drinks or nutritional beverages. The tagline "Pro-grade canned coffee" seems to emphasize the product’s ingredients more than the flavor, evoking the image of an energy drink.
With the release of this new product, a collaboration with Uma Musume was launched, featuring the designs from the development team, one of whom was a fan of the game.
Each flavor has two characters from Uma Musume, with a total of four designs available.
Considering the previous trend of new flavors and design updates, it seems likely that Boss Caffeine Pro will have even more flavors in the future. When the next one is released, I’ll be sure to provide a simple review here.
