The taste is a sweet and sour classic flavor with a medicinal-like scent that lingers in your nose after drinking.

The taste itself has a good balance of sourness and sweetness, with a rich, creamy texture that makes it a satisfying classic flavor.

There are no additional flavorings, making it a straightforward classic taste, easy to enjoy for people who regularly drink energy drinks.

However, the scent is a bit too strong. Every time I drink it, I find myself wondering, “What’s that smell?” as it lingers in my nose. Σ(´∀｀；)

The taste is a well-balanced, classic flavor that will be easily accepted by people who like this type of flavor, but the issue is the scent. It’s so distinctive that people who don’t like chemical-like smells might struggle to finish the 500ml.

This scent seems to be the defining feature of ZONe Energy Drink, but personally, I think it could be better if the smell were changed or combined with a sharper flavor for easier drinking.

Will the taste and scent change before the official release from β ver.0.8.5?

Energy Ingredients of ZONe Energy Drink β ver.0.8.5

It contains 75mg of caffeine, 500mg of arginine, and 5g of palatinose. Even if you drink 500ml, the caffeine content is lower than Red Bull's 250ml (which has the same caffeine as 185ml), so there’s no need to worry about overconsumption.

Palatinose, which is included in ZONe Energy Drink, is essentially a sugar, but it’s absorbed more slowly than regular sugar. It helps suppress a rapid rise in blood sugar, and its gradual absorption can be used to prevent energy crashes when you’re moving for long periods of time, and it’s also expected to help sustain concentration.

ZONe Energy Drink is marketed as a "highly immersive energy drink for the digital generation," so it would have been interesting to include some ingredients that are "cool" for the brain, even if the quantities were small and the effects minimal.

First of all, the design of the 6-can pack is excellent. What is this, haha.

I’ve seen energy drinks from all over the world, but I’ve never come across a package design like this. The design sense is great.

When you remove the outer packaging, you reveal the can's exposed package.

It’s a very elaborate design that fits well with the brand image and has a significant impact. It’s so nice that it almost feels like a waste not to buy it. Once you’re done, you could even keep the can and display it.

The cans were stacked two high, three cans per stack.

When I first saw the box, I thought, "Wow, that’s a big box," but when I opened it, I saw it was perfectly packaged without any waste. You really need to see the actual product, but the size gives it such a strong presence.

The power button mark seems to be the logo for ZONe Energy Drink.

The black can, with the power button light lit up, looks cool. It’s a big 500ml size, so it should stand out in stores. (It’s unclear whether this design will be used in the final version.)

At the top of the can, there’s a label indicating β ver.0.8.5. This might disappear in the final version. The overall design of the can might change as well.

With the tagline “highly immersive energy drink,” this is the kind of image it conveys.

At this point, it might be a little too much, though... haha.

As this is a beta version released ahead of time, the QR code is prominently featured in the design.

By scanning it, you’re directed to a special page for ZONe Energy Drink’s beta version. The site has a very digital feel, making it a fun part of the promotion. I’m very curious about which company came up with this idea.

Rare Energy Drink in Japan with Exceptional Visuals

The attention to detail in the outer packaging and website feels unique for a domestic energy drink, and the promotional video is amazing too. Watch the 30-second clip.

It’s so stylish that it completely breaks the mold of the traditional image of Japanese energy drinks. The company behind this is really impressive.

This video could easily be marketed internationally, with the style matching the high-energy, futuristic vibe that fits the energy drink culture in Asia. Personally, I really liked the girl drawing on a tablet—such a cool touch (*´艸｀*).

I reviewed the beta version of ZONe Energy Drink, but the official release is set for 2020, with only that date being announced. There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the drink. Personally, I find the chemical-like smell a bit much, so I’d hope they adjust it if the final version is released (^_^;)
