Released on August 31, 2021, the latest addition to the ZONe energy drink series, the pure white ZONe Infinity Gate.

The can has a simple design with no product name written on the front, making it hard to imagine what the flavor might be just from its appearance. Let's dive in and taste it!

Rich & Refreshing Bikkurī-like Flavor

The color inside was a cloudy, rich milky white. As expected, it has the scent of a fermented milk drink like Bikkurī.

When you take a sip, you’ll experience a rich flavor reminiscent of Bikkurī, a fermented milk drink from Suntory. There's no tangy sourness typical of fermented drinks, and instead, it has a sweet and fruity taste.

After drinking, the lingering aftertaste is minimal, and despite its sweetness, it’s surprisingly refreshing. With 69g of carbohydrates, it’s surprisingly easy to drink, and the aftertaste is very clean.

Even though a Bikkurī-like flavor might be said to be "not typical of energy drinks," this large 500ml size is just the right amount of sweetness and fragrance, making it easy to enjoy. Normally, I’d find it difficult to finish 500ml, but I was able to drink the ZONe Infinity Gate all the way through.

The ZONe energy blend contains 75mg of caffeine, 500mg of arginine, and is sweetened with palatinose. The caffeine content isn't too high, so even if you drink multiple flavors of ZONe Infinity Gate, there's no worry about caffeine overdose. But with 69g of carbohydrates, that’s what you should really watch out for.

The can features a pure white design with the ZONe power logo glowing in a gradient, creating a simple, almost "blank" look. You can’t even tell what the product is from the front, so if it continues to be sold, it might settle into being known as the "white ZONe."

The design might feel a bit too minimalistic, but for those who love white, this could be an irresistible can. Or, it could symbolize the infinite potential of a "blank" space where anyone can write their own message or design.

That being said, I personally would have preferred a little more attention to the front design—considering the flavor, a little more of an "energy drink feel" or premium appeal that would make you want to pay 200 yen for it would have been nice.

On the back of the can, there’s an illustration of a temple-like gate with a glowing power logo.

The ultra-clean and cool image of the simple white front contrasts with the slightly over-the-top "infinity gate" illustration on the back, which I personally found a bit mismatched. This kind of "cringe-worthy" feel probably came from the creators of the Don Quijote Blackout series (^_^;)

Considering the pace of new ZONe releases so far, I believe development for the next one is already underway. I'm looking forward to seeing what the next ZONe will be like!
