This is a review of "ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY," a non-carbonated drink with 15% fruit juice, released on April 8, 2025. This time, it's a fruity flavor with added fruit juice and no carbonation. I'm excited to find out what kind of taste it offers!

Flavor of ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY

When you open the bottle, a sweet banana aroma spreads instantly. The liquid is a bright orange with a yellow tint, and when poured into a glass, you can also catch hints of pineapple and orange in addition to banana. Let’s give it a try.

As you take a sip, you’re greeted with a rich and smooth texture, along with the sweet flavors of pineapple, orange, fully ripened mango, and apple. These are all enveloped by the gentle, sweet aroma of banana, delivering a luxurious and realistic taste reminiscent of freshly squeezed juice.

The thick mouthfeel, combined with the fact that it's non-carbonated, wonderfully recreates the flavor of real fruit juice.

There have been several fruit juice-infused ZONe drinks released so far, but ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY sets itself apart with a unique combination of being non-carbonated and using thickening polysaccharides to create a dense, indulgent flavor and an entirely different drinking experience.

In addition to the highly accurate recreation of fruit flavors and aromas, the non-carbonated nature of the drink enhances the natural fruitiness even further. Honestly, it tastes almost like it’s made of 100% fruit juice.

Another standout point is how you can distinctly taste and smell each type of fruit. The fresh, juicy pulp flavors of high-water-content fruits and the sweet, rich banana aroma stimulate your senses one after another, providing a dynamic and high-quality taste experience that I personally rate very highly.

That said, I’m giving it a perfect score of 5. It’s the most delicious ZONe drink to date and ranks among the top for sugar- and juice-containing energy drinks available in Japan.

It tastes great at any temperature, from chilled to room temperature. Personally, I prefer it slightly below room temperature, where the sweetness peaks perfectly.

Energy Ingredients of ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY

It contains 75mg of caffeine and 400mg of arginine. Since this isn’t part of the “HYPER ZONe” line, the caffeine amount is relatively modest at 75mg.

The 15% fruit juice blend includes five fruits: apple, peach, orange, banana, and mango.

Design of ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY

The design features a vibrant contrast of yellow as the base color and black as the accent, creating a bold and eye-catching look that stands out on store shelves. The black cap in particular adds a nice touch.

The can is covered in fruit illustrations, making it easy to identify the flavor. Like the simultaneously released HYPER ZONe BLACK PUNCH and HYPER ZONe WHITE SODA, this marks a shift in the ZONe series toward packaging that makes the flavor clearer at a glance. The prominent “Equivalent to 2 bananas” label not only hints at the calorie content but also helps reinforce the banana flavor image, which is a nice touch.

It gives off the impression of a Japanese functional supplement drink, but more than that, the clear indication of flavor and the catchy slogan that suggests a specific drinking occasion make this design far more compelling than previous ZONe products, which often left you guessing what flavor they were.

According to the press release, the official product name is "ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY" printed in small text, but the large, bold “POWER MORNING ENERGY” branding suggests that most consumers will simply call it “ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY.” In fact, many might not even notice the official name at all.

On the back, you’ll find a catchy phrase “Wake Up, Power Up” along with ingredient icons that reinforce the idea of a “morning-specific energy drink.”

Interestingly, it seems that the can manufacturer has changed for this product. Up until now, both the caps and bottles were made by Artemis Seikan.

The cap is now made by CSI Japan. On the right is the original HYPER ZONe cap.

And the bottle can is now manufactured by Takeuchi Press Kogyo.

We’re left wondering whether this change was made just for this fruit juice, non-carbonated product, or if future ZONe bottle cans will also be produced by these manufacturers.

Normally I wouldn’t mention can manufacturers in a review, but I bring it up because there have been many reports on social media about ZONe bottles leaking.

This issue is especially common with the highly aromatic original ZONe, where the scent would leak even before opening—sometimes noticeable in stores. I’ve long wished for a more reliable bottle design that could ensure better storage.

Will ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY finally solve that problem?

This has been a rather long review, but overall, ZONe POWER MORNING ENERGY stands out as one of the highest-rated drinks in the entire ZONe lineup. The packaging is likely to appeal to consumers who don’t usually drink energy drinks, and I hope they run a wide-reaching promotion to let people discover its rich and fruity flavor.

無炭酸という事でどんなもんかと飲んでみると、バナナの味が強くオレンジやその他のフルーツの味がほんのりする感じ とても美味しくてグビグビ飲める
ただ、バナナの味が少し口に残りやすいのでくどいのが苦手な人には向かない可能性がある
