The new ZONe energy drink released in December 2020, ZONe Unlimited ZERO. As the product name suggests, it’s a zero-calorie, zero-sugar energy drink.

2020 was the year ZONe was officially launched, and this ZONe Unlimited ZERO is the fourth flavor (excluding the 2019 released ZONe Beta version). That means there were four new energy drink flavors within one year. ZONe has utilized social media and real-world campaigns to infiltrate the digital and otaku communities, a development that’s unimaginable in the traditional Japanese energy drink scene.

Flavor of Strong Chemical and Light Artificial Sweetener Taste

Opening the can releases a powerful blend of chemical and classic-style scents. Could it be that they just took the original and made it zero!? I initially thought it was a new zero-flavor, but the color inside is the same as before.

ZONe Unlimited Zero is recommended for those who enjoy a clean sweetness like Red Bull Sugar-Free. If you're not a fan of the heavy sweetness that lingers in most energy drinks, you might find ZONe Unlimited Zero to be easy to drink and refreshing.

The sweetness isn't overpowering, but the aroma is quite strong (it can fill a room with the chemical scent), so it still gives you the satisfaction of a true energy drink.

However, it's not suited for those who dislike the unique taste of artificial sweeteners. ZONe Unlimited Zero doesn't have the "normal" flavor you'd expect from a sugar-free version. Instead, it's a product that showcases the absence of sugar, so it's ideal for those wanting to experience that.

The artificial sweeteners tend to make the medicinal-like flavor stand out more, so if you're not into synthetic flavors and scents, this might be tough to handle.

Energy Ingredients of ZONe Unlimited ZERO

Contains 100mg of caffeine and 1000mg of arginine. Even if you drink a 500ml can, you only get 100mg of caffeine, so there's no risk of acute caffeine poisoning from drinking too much of just ZONe Unlimited Zero.

ZONe, known for its "immersion" energy drink tagline, doesn't really have anything that would make you feel immersed, and if you associate that with awakening, the caffeine content might feel a bit low. But well, energy drinks are mostly about branding... (^_^;)

Design of ZONe Unlimited ZERO

The mirrored silver can with a black power symbol logo and swirling purple vibes gives off a mysterious atmosphere. It's almost like it's pulling you in.

Unlike the colorful imagery of previous ZONe series cans, the mirrored silver can stands out in stores. Especially with the 500ml size, the series looks quite impressive when placed together. The combination of the black power symbol and purple is both eerie and captivating, and the black top that is common across all ZONe cans makes it all the more striking.

Many people on social media seem to buy ZONe for its large size, high cost performance, and striking design. ZONe Unlimited Zero certainly brings a fresh appeal compared to the previous designs in the series.

The back of the can features an "immersion" concept with mysterious equations. ZONe's original version went from 1.0.0 to 1.3.9, with equations added to represent immersion.

The latest ZONe Unlimited Zero also includes these equations. Can someone explain what they mean? (^_^;)

After two different flavors—ZONe FIER WALL and ZONe DEEP DIVE—were released, I never expected a calorie-free, sugar-free version of the original flavor. I thought the color scheme and design around the power symbol indicated a different flavor, especially considering the release timing.

Anyway, ZONe Unlimited Zero is all about showcasing the artificial sweetener taste, so whether you'll enjoy it or not is likely to be a matter of personal preference.
