The taste of ZONe Ver. PS5 is the same as the original

The contents are a bright and calm light blue, unlike the usual ZONe original. A classic chemical scent spreads.

When you take a sip, a rich, sweet and sour classic flavor fills your mouth, accompanied by a strong chemical smell. The taste is the same as the original ZONe. It’s a bold, classic flavor, so finishing the 500ml might be a bit of a challenge Σ(´∀｀；)

Since this is the PlayStation 5 Edition, I thought the flavor would be a special PS5-themed limited flavor with the beautiful blue contents. It’s a bit of a disappointment, though. I was expecting something refreshing with a clear taste…

The taste is the same for both, with the sweet, bold flavor enveloped by the chemical scent. The rich, tangy sweetness and intense aroma overwhelm you.

Since the taste and aroma are strong, it’s recommended to drink it with plenty of ice rather than at a colder temperature.

ZONe Ver. PS5 PlayStation5 Edition's Energy Ingredients

The barcode section has ○×△□ buttons drawn on it.

It contains 100mg of caffeine and 1000mg of arginine. The caffeine content is moderate. The 65.6g of carbohydrates is something to note. There’s a lot of sugar. Pay more attention to the sugar intake rather than the caffeine.

It contains 5g of Palatinose, which helps maintain steady blood sugar levels and provides sustained energy. This is a standard ZONe energy ingredient.

I’ll also include a comparison of the ingredients for the original ZONe and the PS5 Edition.

The base is the same, but the PS5 Edition does not contain Vitamin B2. This difference is likely not related to effects, but perhaps because the yellow of Vitamin B2 would clash with the PS5 blue. The coloring agents used are different since the colors are blue and yellow, but the contents are otherwise the same.

ZONe Ver. PS5 PlayStation5 Edition Design

The pure white can with a blue power button and sharp black accents is unexpectedly cool. I had an idea from the promotional images, but once I held it, the actual design exceeded my expectations.

Even just placing 10 cans randomly, the combination of white, black, and blue radiates beauty, cleanliness, and a futuristic vibe. It’s a design that hasn’t been seen in Japan’s energy drink scene before, making it stand out.

The front has the power button logo, but the back features the PlayStation logo. The simple black logo and black top with a monochrome look is quite appealing.

The QR code for the campaign site also features the four PlayStation buttons glowing blue and white.

If you look closely, the blue and white glowing part of the power button on the front also has the four PlayStation buttons detailed in small prints. That’s impressive!

This ZONe Ver. PS5 PlayStation5 Edition is designed simply with ZONe’s standard design and the simple PS5 logo, but it has a strong impact and high completion. It’s at a level where you’d believe "PS5 released an energy drink." I think people who own a PS5 would want to display this energy drink next to it.

Black ZONe PS5 Edition

The white PS5 Edition is a limited edition sold only at Amazon and some electronics retailers, but the black PS5 Edition is available nationwide in convenience stores and supermarkets in limited quantities.

The contents are the same as the white PS5, with ZONe Ver. 1.39, and like the original, it contains Vitamin B2 with a bold yellow coloring agent.

Both the white and black PS5 Editions have the same PlayStation 5 design. It’s not pure black, but a smoky black with the power logo glowing blue and white.

The back features a large, simple PlayStation logo.

The black ZONe PS5 available nationwide and the white ZONe PS5 available at electronics retailers and Amazon. The scent is intense!

By purchasing 15 cans, you can enter a PS5 lottery, so I’ve drunk quite a few, but with such a large amount of ZONe, the chemical scent fills the room as you slowly drink it.

Suntory has also made a commercial image using the black PS5 Edition.

It’s well done. Recently, few energy drink brands in Japan have visualized product images like this, so you can feel the momentum of ZONe. Big brands should be doing more of this.

The ZONe series mainly promotes itself as an energy drink brand targeting anime fans, but this ZONe Ver. PS5 has a design that would captivate even people who don’t normally play games, making it a top-tier collaboration product.

同時に開けて飲み比べるとわかるけど、味は同じですね。
色が違うと別の味に感じることもあるよね。
